SOS - School of Servanthood

Imagine trading two months of your summer to make a lasting difference in the lives of at-risk youth and children.  Imagine seeing lives transformed by the power of the message of Jesus Christ – lived out through you in word and action.  Imagine God’s love, through you, being a visible and tangible witness that leads to changed lives and changed community.  Imagine being challenged to grow in spiritual maturity in your personal relationship with God.  Imagine developing as a leader.  Imagine cultivating strong relationships with peers living out the same experience.  Imagine having the time of your life. Now imagine doing it while living in the Columbus, Ohio, inner city community of Milo-Grogan.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider participating in the School of Servanthood’s Summer to Serve (S2S) program.  If you are excited about growing, sharing, and living your faith in Jesus Christ through humble service and bold proclamation, there may be a spot on the team for you!

Mission
The School of Servanthood (SOS) functions to train, equip, and prepare people for lasting, fruitful Christian ministry by teaching Biblical doctrine and essential leadership skills and by providing practical internship experience through RXN, RTN, or established ministry partnerships outside of the RTNI umbrella of ministries.

History
SOS launched its first trial run internship and graduated its first intern, Anna, in 2009.  The program was condensed into eight months (five months in the inner city Columbus neighborhood of Milo-Grogan with our RXN branch and three months in Haiti partnered with Living Hope Ministries).  It was a tremendous learning experience for both SOS and Anna.  At present, SOS is studying 2009 in retrospect and is designing strategic changes in order to build on what we learned, leverage resources, and create an enhanced twelve to twenty-four month internship experience.
